Stucked in between

For all my colleagues, this month would be a month where people would smile from one ear to another. Two reasons - bonus is out and if you have not reached your ceiling, definitely there's an increment. Next is income tax declaration and everyone would be busy doing their e-filing hoping that we don't have to pay extra. Thank God, another year I don't have to pay extra. Though it hurts to see how much has been deducted from my salary, but I thank God I'm paying tax because it means I have a job and I have an income.

So, last year my bonus went all to my wedding. This year, I plan to pamper myself a little bit just to give a reward for all the hard work. Thinking of a reward for myself - I am always in dilemma. I have too many gadgets that I want, now I have to consider what do I really need. Since my pc crashed and my mini-netbook is only sufficient for web-surfing and minor editing, I thought of getting a new toy for my photo-editing, web-editing, video-editing and at the same time I'd be able to do web-surfing, word, excel, access and powerpoint editing.

Now, it's Mac vs Windows. Sigh.

I love Mac because it's sleek and stylish, of course it's powerful for photo editing and video editing. However, the price is also very "sleek and stylish". I was looking at the 15 inch new Macbook Pro at Optiprimus yesterday and that would cost me RM 5499. So, maybe an iMac instead, bigger screen - 21 inch, almost the same spec with a slightly higher price. It may be very useful for my editing, but in case I need to work on my office documents, the application doesn't seem to be too compatible especially if I'm working on my Excel Macro. To install office on Mac would cost me another fortune so I was thinking of getting a windows pc, even at the very same price I bet I'd get a very powerful pc.

I took a step to a different shop and I guess I've fallen in love with the Acer Aspire Z5710-565X7. It may not be as sleek and stylish as Macbook, but it's half of the price. The specs were pretty awesome, I am so familiar with Windows and I know I won't have problem with my office documents. I can install my photoshop, lightroom, premiere and sony vegas at ease too. It comes with a 23 inch monitor, and the processor is attached together with the monitor (iMac concept). It has a blue-ray disc combo drive, full HD and it's touch screen! *Faint*

So...which one to go for? It depends on what I want...do I want to be stylish carrying a Macbook with me? Or save some penny for a more affordable, yet competitive spec of Windows pc? Hmmm.... *smile*
